S&W Shield Plus problem and S&W customer service. Update post #9.

Since I am no longer limited to 10 rounds, I decided to upgrade my carry gun. Have a S&W shield 2.0. Carried for a couple of years, no problems. Decided to buy a Shield Plus. Went to LGS, found out S&W running a special. Gun currently comes with 6 magazines and a nice pistol case. $527 out the door.

Bought it Tuesday. Shot it Wednesday. Cleaned it today and recoil spring assembly came apart making it impossible to reassemble gun.

Called S&W customer service. New part on the way. Could not have been easier. Don't want old part, no pictures. Simply asked for S/N to verify barrel length for correct part. Said it would ship today. P1040737.jpg P1040738.jpg P1040739.jpg

Shot well. Glad I always put all least 500 rounds through a carry gun before carry. Don't expect any more problems.

Good that they helped you out. I called them a few months ago to try and get a replacement screw for my red dot on my 2.0 and they told me no parts shipped to cal see your dealer

Not in California anymore. Makes more of a difference than I thought it would.

Even better if they had decent quality control and you never had to deal with this in the first place. I wouldn’t trust that with my life

I've carried my Shield Plus the past three years, nothing but accolades. It's pleasant to shoot, accurate and reliable. I'll forgive any gun company at least once and it's good to see that S&W customer service was good, I've never had to deal with them.

And this is a great example of a reputable gun manufacturer. There was a problem (it happens), and they fixed it.

Update. Parts arrived after 2 1/2 weeks. Personally think it should have been a little faster. But, brand new correct part delivered to my front door at zero cost to me. Reassembled gun and put 300 rounds (about my limit with a compact gun) through it. No problems.
