Taurus GX2 California now on Roster.

IMG_9192.jpg Budget 9mm now on the Roster. I have no idea if their semi-auto QC is any good. This is a standard pic; not the specific California model.

Hmm...very mixed feelings about Taurus in general. They seem to have a much higher Kaboom rate than competitors. I wouldn't buy one. Glad they are on the roster though, choice is good, just no Taurus for me but others seem to like them.

Very Budget, free state version running $255 at SW.

The Taurus GX2 targets the affordable market segment, and we test it through training at the Gunsite Academy. Here's a full review.

      Have 1 Taurus...No Complaints.

I have owned many Taurus pistols with no issues, except one. The blade rear sight on my 22 revolver came off. Taurus won't sell me just the blade or the rear sight, they want me to send it in for repair. They don't cover sights under their lifetime warranty, so I'd have to pay for the sight, installation and shipping both ways. I could buy another Taurus 22 revolver for that money, so it just sits in my safe for the time being.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement for their customer service. If one wants a cheap gun, HiPoint's customer service is legendary. I like dealing with manufacturers who make it right. Ruger comes to mind, great customer service. Generally, I've been extremely lucky over the years. The only guns that I've bought that have actually broken and been defective are Sigs. Never buy a Sig.

The Hi Point 9mm handgun went off the roster January 1, 2024, bummer I didn't even know.
The good news is that if you can find one, it's not going to be marked up 500% like lots of other off rosters.

I've had a Taurus PT100 years ago and a G3C now. No issues with either one of them. The G3C has a decent trigger and easily accurate enough to qualify with for CCW.
