I recently picked up a P365 California with the dual manual thumb safety. I couldn’t stand having an ambi safety, So I eliminated the right side lever. Much nicer IMO for carry.
The whole modification took me all of about 15 minutes to do. From cutting off the lever, grinding the pin flush and cold bluing the bare metal.
And I didn't even remove the safety from the fire control unit
Once I was done, I ran the whole fire control unit through the sonic cleaner to remove any micro metal bits left over from the grinding. I then blew off any remaining moisture with a high-pressure airline, and then re-oiled and installed the control unit back into the grip module.
It helps to have all these tools from building 1911s.
