    I love/hate my sig pro .40S&W

yes, oh yes. It's another .40 thread, and it's another "Panda's what should I get" thread, so yes, Skycraper, my post count isnt getting lower, so no need to troll.

While I'm still recovering, I keep drooling over shooting my guns, all my babies, except for the AK and sp2022 in .40. I've decided to keep my AK, well just cause it's an AK, but my .40 is getting on my nerves. It's not that the gun is bad, but I just can't stand the caliber.

I do realize that .40 is the easiest caliber to find, but man, I dont even enjoy shooting it anymore. Should I trade? If I should, should get m9?

I know what you mean... However, a Sig Pro is not a bad zombie gun should DJShakes senario come true!

I have to shoot a lot of .40 to be good with it. I find myself flinching if I don't shoot mine at least once a week.

My last .40 was a HK USP40 that I bought new in 1994 for $499 (retail back then). I have not owned another .40 since parting with that in 2000. .40 costs about the same to shoot as .45, and overall 9mm is just smoother, less expensive to shoot, and just as lethal. Hell, the military uses 9mm. I have a Walther P99 AS, and I bought a M9 YESTERDAY.

Go for it! It's your gun.

Lots of my friends were disappointed when I sold my Glock G19. But I did it anyway and happy with the decision as well.

yea im not understanding the problem with .40? I only own a star 40, but it seems to shoot just fine and not much recoil??? I only like 9mm better because its cheaper.

You shot a CZ before right? I know how you feel. The SP-01s are hard to find but worth to wait. I am on a waiting list and I heard it will take about a year. .

Sorry the .40 is giving you problems. I do prefer the 9mm or .45 in most guns. I also enjoy the .40 in certain guns. I have a HK USP FS .40 and I have shot the compact version as well and they handle the .40 very well. The HK USP from what I understand was built for the .40 and it shows that thing is like a little push to the rear. I think I read that the recoil system in the HK USP reduced felt recoil of the .40 from around 1102 lbs in most guns to about 66 lbs in the USP.

I have also shot the Sig p229 and that gun handles .40 very well. My Sig p226 .40 has more of a flip vs a push to the rear like the p229 or the HK USP. My point is the .40 is a good round but so are the 9mm and .45 and if you shoot the others better then go for what you shoot better. I can shoot the P229 or my HK USP .40 as fast and accurate as the 9mm G19 or Beretta 92fs that I own. The HK is more accurate when I focus even though it is in .40.

Some designs make a difference for a given caliber so I would take that into consideration if I were you and you still want to shoot the .40.

Here is the reference I spoke of for the Recoil reduction sytem.

The HK recoil reduction system (patent pending), a mechanical dual spring buffering device, is another feature common to the USP and the HK SOCOM pistol. During the USP testing phase, HK engineers discovered this innovative unit reduces the peak force act ing on the USP grip to less than 300 Newtons (66 pounds). Peak force shock on competing .40 caliber polymer and metal framed pistols climbed to more than 5000 Newtons (1102 pounds).
