    HK gunsmith

Anyone know of a gun smith that works on HK pistols, primarily in the San Gabriel Valley? Mainly just want to change out the trigger springs, but it maybe just above my skills.

If you're looking to do more/willing to ship, GrayGuns also works on HK's although they are primarily known for their Sig work.

Grayguns (Spray, OR) and Apex Tactical (Los Oso, CA)would be my two recommendations

Honestly man I would just do it yourself just knock out the roll pins get to the springs and replace them. Go to the HKpro forum and they have some stickies about changing out parts it's really not hard. Try it your not going to mess anything up and if you can't put everything back together then you can send it out.

Just about any smith should be able to handle a simple spring swap.

Id DIY it though. Always good to learn about how your gun operates.

Had Grayguns do a little work for me.
Nothing fancy, just sights for both an HK and Sig.
Was worth knowing it would be done right and not get fouled up.

              What model H&K?

If you have a USP, a simple hammer spring swap will make a meaningful difference in both DA and SA modes, Wolff sells them on their web site. Pretty much anyone can do this change. I think there are a few youtube videos on it as well, a very simple change. If you go this route, just make sure you test your favorite ammo brands after you put the lighter spring in as it will lighten the strike some. I made this change on one of my USP's and it fired fine after the swap, even with the harder CCI and Wolf primers.

If you have a P2000, P30 or one of the newer "HK" varients and you want to change all the springs that affect the trigger (like making your V2 P2000 into a V1) and you are not particularly handy, pretty much any experienced gunsmith should be able to install a spring kit by just using the exploded parts diagram in the back of your owners manual as a guide. The V1 spring kit really improves the P2000 V2's trigger.

For a gunsmith that has never had one of the above all the way down, figure an hour of labor. For one familiar, less than 15 minutes.

              Good luck.

Thanks all for the advice. It is the P2000SK, .40 caliber, LEM trigger. I read the DIY on the HK forum, but may still take it to a gun smith. Especially, since I had trouble building model airplanes...

Send it back to HK and keep your warranty.

Unless you totally mess it up or use aftermarket parts.... HK wont know whether you changed put things yourself or not.
