ontarget sucks for DROS and ppt's by and large. They especially refused black rifles for a long time.

OC armory...and if you call him he can order it for you and may charge you less...

        Wow, so much to learn!
n00b question now is, what's an FFL?
I really don't have a clue about this stuff.
I've got several of my dad's guns sitting in the closet waiting to be gone through and made functional but don't know anyone locally to go to. The old local guy is long gone.
I got my youth cert from him back in '65....

Checking out Glendale Gun gallery which is fairly close to me suggested in the local thread here at CalGuns.
Might be best to go there and just ask all the questions.

(a). Handgun purchasers must possess a Handgun Safety Certificate (or qualifying exemption), provide evidence of residency, (utility bill or current matching car registration), valid CA driver's license or State I.D. and perform a Safe Handling Demonstration.
          Handgun Safety Certificate
I see you can take the written test right there. I suppose it's a common sense type of test...

To the OP: An "FFL" is a "Federal Firearms License" - in other words, a person licensed by the feds to deal in firearms. Every legal gun shop in the US is owned by someone with an FFL - gun shops, pawn shops, hardware stores, Big 5 Sporting Goods and Bud's Gun Shop. In order for an FFL to ship a handgun in the US, it must be shipped to another FFL.

There are LOTS of details that I'm over-simplifying or omitting - but the bottom line is that you MUST find a dealer to work with you. You buy the gun from Buds, Buds ships to your dealer, and your dealer helps you fill out the paperwork and complete the transaction. On the Buds website, there is a list of dealers in your area that have previously done business with Buds. I would pick one of those - it will probably make the deal go more smoothly since this is your first time.

Hmm... seems like a pretty good price, do they also do Single Shot Exemption? Probably not huh?

Insight shooting range is already in Buds system IIRC.

After fees and all, you could probably find a decent deal local.
