1911pd scandium thumb safety question

I feel that the thumb safety is a little too easily engaged while shooting and God-forbid accidentally disengaged while carrying.

Can I install a stiffer spring? Do i have to worry about compatability?

Brownells has a spring and plunges kit by colt for about $8
