    CZ-52 slide problem

I have a CZ-52 and four mags: two old and two new. With only one of the old mags does the slide stay locked open when the last round is fired. And even with that mag, not every time. This is a bit of a problem because it results (when I lose count) in a dry fire which is not good because it case hardens the CZ-52's FP and causes it to break at the tip. I could replace the FP with a spring loaded one, but I sort of want to keep the CZ as original as possible. Any suggestions as how to keep the slide locked back after the last round? If it makes any difference, the decocker works. Thanks for your help.

I would start with with disassembling and cleaning the magazines. However four of them makes that somewhat unlikely.....
if you rack the slide by hand will it lock on empty magazine? If yes, you may want to try to change magazine springs......

The magazine needs to be further up in the grip. Push up on the mags and the slide will lock.
The baseplates get used as a barrel removal tool and get all bent up (at least mine are) so what I did is solder a small piece of metal where they latch under the mag release catch and they all work like they should.

Thank you gentlemen. As you suggested, the problem is that the magazines are not seating sufficiently high in the grip. Even the brand new, undamaged mags have about 1/32" of lash and that is the difference between holding the slide back and not holding it back. I discovered this by pressing the handle or grip down on on a table while pulling the slide back. I guess the "fix" is to either add a sliver of metal to each mag where it slips into the release jaw or add a little material to the bottom part of the jaw itself. Does that make sense? Or is there a better way to bring the magazines higher up into the handle?
