Is the magazine floor plate not pushing up on the slide release? Looks like the slide is trying to go back home after the last mag, instead of being locked back, smashing the last shell in between itself and the barrel.

Seems like a magazine problem, not an extractor problem. Did all of your other rounds eject normally?

    Try a new magazine.

I the same issue with my mil-spec. After trying different mags, different weight recoil springs, and removing my shok-buff, I went after the extractor. I own a Kimber that's been flawless so I compared their extractors. The SA's extractor was much sloppier and much tighter. After relieving some of the tension on the extractor so that it would be to spec, it's been hiccup free for 400 rounds.

I'd bet its the extractor being to tight, but start with the simple stuff first.

Generally it's caused by too little extractor tension, a loose/broken ejector, or too heavy of a recoil spring for the load being fired.

My SA 1911 does the same thing on last round. This ONLY happens when using low pressure reloads. recoil spring or use the good stuff.

I had the same issue with my stainless loaded made in brazil. Call Springfield. They have a lifetime warranty. I sent mine back last month and springfield replaced the extractor and made some other repairs free of charge. Now it is running like a champ. I wish it came out of the box GTG, but Springfield stood behind their product. Turn around was about two weeks. For reals. Call them at the customer service number on the website.

Happened to my GI 1911 when I ran sub-5 grain W231 loads.
