Stopped by Tabor's Shooters Supply in San Bruno on Saturday afternoon, right around 3 pm. And as always, I made a bee line to the used/consignment case first thing.
Nothing too interesting; so I say to the gentleman behind the counter (not Frank, but one of the other guys who's name I always forget) "Seen anything in older S&W revolvers recently?"
"Aww you just missed a good one"
"Oh really? What?"
And then proceeds to let me know that not 3 hours earlier they sold a 29-2 4" in nickel with the ORIGINAL diamond grips.
Say what?
He was nice enough to bring it out for me to look at; absolutely beautiful. Not unfired but not fired much. Nickel was bright and clean, not pitting or yellowing. The grips were outstanding. I could have cried when he told me how much they let it go for. $600. Which is a pretty darn good price for a sweet N-frame in excellent condition; especially here in Cali.
*sigh* So if it was one of my esteemed colleagues here on calguns, I salute you. Great find.
And of course, the standard offer applies, if you ever want to sell it, blah blah blah.
