HELP me ID this part PLEASE!!!

My buddy took his Sig P226 and Glock 26 shooting today. When he got home he noticed this part laying in his pistol case. Is this from one of his pistols? If so, what is it and which gun?

That part is a SIG P-series safety lever. It pushes on the firing pin safety in the slide when firing. See here, part #41:

Browse a HUGE selection of hunting rifles & shotguns, gun parts, gunsmithing tools, reloading equipment, ammo, and more! Brownells: Since 1939

Might have your friend check his pistol to make sure the sear pivot pin hasn't backed out of the left side of the frame allowing the safety lever to fall out. The gun won't fire without that lever.

You may have already thought of this...or pursued it...but what about searching the internet for an exploded parts view for each gun.
You might luck out and find 'em and then you can start searching.
      Good luck

          Thanks so much, guys!

Turns out his pistols are both totally fine. Looks like Sig left an extra part in his case when he sent it in to be refurbished. Everything is A-OK.

I can't believe how fast you guys responded to this thread.
