    Glock holsters

Looking to get myself a belt holster for my G23. Not really looking into getting a combo deal that comes with extra mag pouches, just need the holster for now. Comfort in mind, any suggestions?

    thanks,

First, what is the function of this holster, CCW, range, action shooting?

Lots of variables need to be filled in.

      affordable, comfortable IWB kholster
affordable range/competition shooting g-code with paddle
Both are very comfortable to wear and built very nicely. Both within the 40-50 dollar range. I have both for my Glock 17.

Holster would be used for range/desert/camping open carry. Possibly around the house as well.

For range and action shooting I really like the serpa for my glock 17. For CCW well I just ordered a supertuck a couple weeks ago and I'm still waiting on it so my glock 26 is just sitting around keeping my 17 company...

I would recommend a serpa for these applications.

Thank you. I do like the look of the serpas. Can you only order them online or does Turner's/gun ranges sell them in store?

I have a box full of glock holsters and the one that I always come back to is the blade-tech doh.
If you are going to shoot idpa or uspsa production you can take the offset adapter off of the doh.

3 of the best ccw holsters:

                    owb:

                    appendix carry:

                    iwb:
this third one is a guy at glocktalk that you might wanna look into also. it has good retention, feels like a Minotaur Spartan Holster but at a better price.

Serpa is good. The retention system is adequate for most everyday users. I have used it in some competitions that require the holster to have a retention system because it's fast on the draw. Definitely NOT something I would carry into combat. I have seen guys get on the ground and their pistol falls out because the Serpa latch was smashed against the earth. Blade tech is another good option. I really love Blade tech mag pouches too.

How do the Blade tech feel while sitting down with the increased drop? Does it tend to rub against whatever your sitting on? I'm not gonna be rolling around on the ground or doing any competitions with my pistol so extreme retention isnt a big deal. Looking for something that you wouldnt even know is there while doing everyday duties.

Take a look at what blade tech has to offer. Some drop pretty low, others do not. It probably wont bother you unless you are really short. Check out your belt when you are sitting down. It pretty much stays in the same position as when you are standing (Unless you are a serious sloucher), so it shouldn't bother you. It doesn't bother me anyway.

If you are looking for all day comfort don't discount a really good gun belt. The belt, more than the holster IMO, is what determines comfort. A lousy belt will stretch out of shape eventually, let your gun flop about, and ride uncomfortably. Just something to think about.

Serpa is nice, but you need to be comfortable and used to the retension release on it all the time. I've taken a few handgun classes where some people used the Serpa holsters. Sometimes (quite a few of them) would get caught up during a live drill when drawing their guns because they forgot to press in the release lever. You might say those guys weren't used to the Serpa holster, but most of them have been carrying for years and little things can get your distracted.

I would've gotten a Serpa myself, but I got a Fobus Evolution holster for free so I use that in my handgun courses. That has a retension screw on it and locks my G19 in there pretty good. I have to keep the screw really lose in order to draw the gun with easy. Otherwise, you'll never get it out if it's too tight.
