I'm almost 100% sure the p95 is the blued safety version and the p95d is the decocker version. If it has a K in front of it is a stainless version. The PR is for a rail but you don't see a lot of railed decockers. I have a railed safety p95 that is blued. The end of the factory box says p95pr.Another reason I say this is the kp97d is on the roster. It is the 45acp big brother of the kp95d. P97 pistols were never made with a safety version only a decocker model and a very rare amount of them were made double action only but they would be DAO. Mark

        As he said 95 = decocker/safety 95D = decocker only.

Real simple (once you know). Sorry if this is so wordy.

95 = push down decocker lever and hammer is let down safely and decocker stays DOWN in that position and acts as a (redundant) safety by disengaging the firing pin from hammer. Pulling trigger does nothing until you lift decocker lever back up.

95D = push down on decocker lever - hammer is let down safely (decocked) - decocker lever spring loaded and pops back up. Pulling trigger shoots a DA round.

Some folks prefer decock only, so that when drawing from holster never have to sweep safety off, or forget to.

        Don't know what a 95DC is - never found it's manual. Could be 95D (in Ruger manuals) = 95DC...

The above info is same for P90 and P89 IIRC.

Stainless version would be prefaced by K - as mentioned above.

P95DC is the decocker only - no safety. I've had mine for 13 years now. They may have changed the designation at some point. I do know that Ruger no longer makes a decocker only model. New P95s are all saftey/decocker models. The only choice is blue or SS.

Mine's about that old, too, a KP95DC. Found this on a different website:

DA = Double Action with safety / decocker switch
DC = Double Action with decocker switch
DAO = Double Action Only, without manual safeties

I guess once they dropped the decocker only model, they switched the nomenclature from DA to D for safety/decocker.
