I'm jealous! Been a long-time gun owner and am ashamed to admit I have yet to own a 1911. Embarassing I know, but, this will be the year I join the club too. I'm also looking at Springfields...either the Operator or the TRP. And I already have my grips picked out for it: http://www.vzgrips.com/index.php/com...category_id=34
Congradulations again!Comment

Congratulations on your purchase. The Springfield Armory Loaded series is a great choice. It's stays true to JMB's original design (e.g. no firing pin safety) but with all the modern features (flared and lowered ejection port, beveled magwell, ambi safety, commander hammer, beavertail grips, FLGR, front cocking serrations). Your particular model has the target sights so you have more flexibility between defense and target (or competition) duty. So get A LOT of ammo and good mags for your 1911 (CMC Power mags, Kimber Pro Tac mags, and Wilson 47D or ETM mags are excellent choices) and shoot the heck out of it. Prove all those 1911 naysayers wrong
