    I need a good ...

gunsmith to do some work on my 1911. Any recommendations? I'm looking for a gunsmith some where in N. Cali if that is possible.

Do a search on the Brian Enos forum, there was a thread awhile back and more and a few names where tossed around.

Depending on what you want done, and whether you feel like waiting, John Jardine is the best name in 1911 smithing. He's local to you, but the wait can be long (as with any master gunsmith).

John Jardine is probably your best bet in terms of a highly reputed 1911 gunsmith in Norcal.

If you dont have luck in Norcal, then check out Jim Hoag or Alan Tanaka in LA county. They're highly recognized also.

I totally agree about John Jardine. The Only Problem is that he is totally busy all the time.

Try Randy Lee near San Luis Obisbo.

Frank Tabor, Tabor's Shooters Supply in San Bruno. He has a web page.

In the Sac area I would recomend Bruce Gray ( grayguns@aol.com ) and further south I would recomend Randy Lee ( apextactical@sbcglobal.net ).
These guys turn out some fantastic guns both for show AND go!
