1911 replacement spring & follower

I got 4 old Mec Gar 8rd mags I need to tune up.

Black steel body, plastic floor plate and metal followers.
The metal/chrome followers are "U" shaped to match the curve of the bullet.
Think I got these mags 20+ yrs ago cause Mec Gar dont sell 1911 mags with this type of follower anymore. All their followers are "Flat" nowadays.

Anyways, I'm looking @ Wilson Combat but got too many follower/spring options.

Can someone point me in the right direction.

My RIA 1911 Govt came wtih ACT 8rd mags that look identical to my Mec Gars.
Would this be a good option?

I've been using the WC Series 47 mags for my Gov't 1911; 8 and 10 round cap. When I ordered them, I didn't have any follower or spring options. IIRC, the only option I had was a low profile or extended basepad, that's it. Even when I ordered replacement followers and springs, the only option I had was if they were for 7, 8 or 10 round mags. So pretty straightforward. I've purchase these mags mostly from MidwayUSA and Brownells.
I've shot all kinds of ammo with these mags and hardly have any problems. My 1911 likes them maybe yours will too.
I have two Mec Gar 1911 8 rd mags that I use for spares and they seem to have a strong spring in them but they work fine for me, these have the flat followers.

I use WC mags and like them fine.
What i would do with your mags is clean and re-spring them with new Wolff springs.

I like Tripp Research springs and followers, or Wilson Combat kits.

That said, the only mags I've upgraded are old 7 round mags to get 8 rounds, some Checkmate .40 S&W singlestack mags that had issues with the followers jumping the slide stop after two years of use, and a Wilson Combat .40S&W single stack magazine.

For the .45 upgrade to 8 rounds, I used the Wilson Combat kit, for the .40 S&W i used Tripp Research springs and followers.

The best 1911 follower is made by Tripp. You should have at least 1 Tripp follower to try out in any 1911 mag that isn't functioning properly. If the magazine doesn't work with the Tripp follower, the magazine itself is bad or the problem is something other than the magazine.
