"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.

Nice setup. I was thinking of an FM 5-7" upper and SBA3 for the next one.

        How well does endomag work?

          good info guys!

I was just concerned bc I thought I read in ARF.com there is an extended piece for the install that would prevent the action from tipping up. I was saddened when I read that. Maybe I misunderstood what I read?

I think its called the bolt carrier extension.

But if this is not true...and it can work with our lame CA rear pins, hell I'll order up the tactical folder ASAP.

So SAlNlDllvllAlNl I will be good to go with AR maglock and kingpin! yahoo!

I would like the folder for more low profile transport in my busy condo building.

The kingpin barely breaks the action enough to release the mag. It doesn't need to open all the way. If you want to open the action all the way you'll have to remove the king pin and the bolt carrier extension. Hope that makes sense. Either way you'll be fine with a law tactical folder and armaglock/kingpin setup.

Good mention on that ^^^ I actually had to fill the last hole closest to the butt of the buffer tube with JB Weld so it wouldn't go past the 13.5" LOP.

This is explained on the SB Tactical website:

"Length of Pull, or LOP, is the straight line distance measured from the middle of the face of the trigger to the end of the gun’s stock or brace in it’s longest configuration. The ATF has advised that a braced pistol with an LOP in excess of 13.5” may constitute a re-design of the host pistol and subject the pistol to restrictions under the National Firearms Act."

They even sell their own limiter or I’ve seen people cut up a strike industries stock block or some other ways.

Yes it’s kind of funny, the ATF is referencing a “length of pull” on a wrist brace, but they do. You don’t want a SBR charge from the Feds.
                      .
It's because BATFE determined, that if you modify an arm brace to make it easier or more comfortable to shoulder than it is no longer considered an arm brace and it is considered a shoulder stock, which would trigger NFA restrictions.

To assist it that, BATFE determined an attachment with a length of pull of greater than 13.5" is a shoulder stock and not an arm brace.

Bwahahaha joke’s on them. I shoot NTCH so I’m only using the second spot on a carbine, all scrunched up on the weapon.

While waiting for my CA7 to get out of jail I wanted to get prepared to replace the upper and add a pistol brace, specifically the SBA3. Few questions on what I need and what I can reuse.

Can I reuse the BCG and charging handle in a new upper?

What do I need to replace the stock buffer tube? I already have the SBA3 brace, do I need a new buffer and spring? Castle nut? Something else I'm not thinking of?

                          Thanks.

I don't remember if the pistol buffer was rifle carbine sized or not.

You need a carbine rifle buffer, and tube to use the SBA3

Honestly, don't remember about the end plate or castle nut. I think you need those too.

Bcg and charging handle can be taken out and reused.

If it is no longer bolt action, you may want to look into 10 round mags and a maglock

Mine had a carbine buffer. I went with a 10.5” barrel and felt it was overgassed. I kept the spring, added tungsten weights to make an H3 buffer and adjustable gas block. It’s shooting flatter and the ejection pattern is about 3:30. Lots of opinions on this, but this is what worked for me. I also wanted a QD endplate, so ended up replacing it with a BCM. I replaced the castle nut but don’t remember why. I reused the BCG but changed the CH to an ambi Radian.
