    Sounds like it was registered using the number on the slide. That should never have happened - slides can be swapped.

      It means non-matching parts. The term usually applies to collectables (like an M1 or Luger) which have been built up out of random parts.

        I had a Glock frame replaced from the factory. Serial number is different between slide, barrel, and frame. Frame number is the firearms serial number and is the only one that matters.
