    Magazine blocking *sigh*

I'm surprised there is not much talk about this, or is there a secret forum I should be on?

In the past I have blocked some CZ magazines down to 10 rounds by epoxying a flat aluminum bar into the body such that the follower is trapped in the body and can only move down to where 10 rounds can be inserted.

I've discovered that this technique makes it impossible to remove/service the follower, since it's not trapped. If you choose to do it, then measure your bar to limit the magazine to 10.5 rounds. ie; allow less than 11 rounds to be inserted. When I did it, I fit it for 10 rounds exactly, but that crams the follower against he block when loading it ... better to add some play in there.

Is it permanent? Well, I cannot remove the block at all. The epoxy really really won't let me move the block, you'd have to grind it out so .. I think it's permanent.

I've discovered that the internal width of a Glock magazine is 3/4" and Home Depot sells 3 foot sections of 3/4" x 1/8" bar in 3 foot lengths. I plan to use that. That's $5. If you have epoxy and a hacksaw or jigsaw, then no problem. Just measure twice and cut once.

The block doesn't seem to get in the way of the magazine functioning.

Just throwing that out there as a cheap option for those who aren't clumsy boat owners.

Is there any opinion yet on just storing un-assembled?

That might be used against having all the parts.

I'm not a lawyer, but it seems to be that a zealous prosecutor could argue that you had all the parts, therefore you possessed the whole. One could argue that having a computer is the same as being a hacker just because you COULD have done it. Or having hands is the same as being a strangler. But CA is stupid and who knows.

Another thing to think about is ... why would there ever be a search warrant served against you? In my decades of life, I've never had cops come to my house and hunt around for anything. Why would they start now?

But, it's up to you. Block or disassemble. THEY want you to destroy, sell out of state or (LOL!) turn into the local policestation. You choose.

Keep in mind that the CPRA filed a motion for preliminary injunction to freeze the magazine possession ban while the case is litigated.

So the court in that case will decide whether Californians can keep their lawfully possessed standard capacity magazines past July 1st or not. Federal judges rule quickly, so Inwould expect a ruling by June 29th.

5, 10, and 15 round magazine capacity limiters for rifle and pistol magazines of all sizes. Convert magazines to hold 5, 10, or 15 rounds.

$5 of aluminum bar can do a lot of mags, though permanently.
