I need to get a part for my gun not sure how it got lost. It is a 1996 or 1997 model. The gun still shoots but I am missing a C clamp that hold the barrel assembly together when taking the gun apart. HK wanted me to ship the entire gun to fix it. I was told that maybe a carburetor shop would have the part. Anybody know what I am talking about?

HK USP 45 - Need Part

I think you're talking about the recoil assembly. Early USPs used a C-clamp to hold it together, and the design was changed in the late 1990s or early 2000s so that a C-clamp was no longer necessary. The fix is to replace the recoil assembly with a current version. I would think that simply sending in your broken recoil assembly is best, and HK would send back to you a new version. -
Um, "C-Clamp"?
I was having weird visions until I remembered "C-clip" or 'circlip'.
