    Spot Rust on Revolver---HELP!

I have found small rust spots on my revolver where the blueing is wearing off. What is the recommended treatment?

Keep it oil so the rust doesn't progress. Don't let water touch it and it depends where on the rust is on the revolver, to clarify if the rust is a problem.

Seriously, try KaBoom solvent...that stuff took out the rust on my ammo cans.

Then apply oil, give it a try.

I crimp down an empty .22LR case and rub it on the rust spot(s) with a little oil on it. The brass won't scratch the bluing and it's aggressive enough to "dig" out the rust spot. Coat with your oil of choice (I like Corrosion X). HTH c good

If it is light rust Boing's Boeshield T-9 will take it off (at very worst you might have to take some terry cloth to it) and keep it protected.

I believe that bronze wool might be better. Not looking to brawl. I'll sure agree about the light coat of oil on the bare spots.
