Why have 7-8 rounds when you can get 10 rounds standard.
Its the same size as a P220 and only nominally thinner.
Sadly that ship sailed when they stopped SSE.

It fits better in my hand and I don't get the double taps that I do with my 1911.

      Double taps?

I'll get bashed, but I think they are ugly. My only experience has been with two owned by friends, and those two have been unreliable - fail to feed, stovepipes, etc at our monthly matches. Sorry to say, (not really) but my 1911s have been totally reliable for several thousand rounds apiece. No extractor problems, no stovepipes, no failures to feed. I do change springs at the recommended intervals., keep them clean and lubed and maintain my mags.

Well I can honestly say that when I did own Sigs, they were extremely reliable as long as I didn't install lighter hammer springs.

However, after rotating through several other platforms, the overall design simply does not meet my needs.

I loved my P226 however for the life of me I cannot get the grip right for my P220. THe P226 fits my hand like a boob, the P220 on the otherhand no matter how many times I manipulated my grips I can't hold it just right. I've gone through Hogues Rubber/G10, E2, stock, etc. Just don't seem to work out, don't really want to sell but I really might have to at this point.

Get a rosewood grips or blackwood grips to make the grips thicker.

Are the Hogue finger grooves grips the thickest you can get on a P220?

I have no idea. But right after I picked up my P220, I ordered rosewood grips and put them on. My hands are medium so it feels like holding P226 with stock grips.

I have a Sig P220 Carry with a SAS slide that I have had up as a trade for awhile. But I actually don't want to lose it. It's a great gun but I prefer the Colt Defender as my EDC. I want to sell/trade it only because it's just sitting in my safe. I feel really bad that it's just sitting there unloved/unused. But part of me wants to keep it because it's a freaking great gun! That's why I have a post to trade/sell it, but I haven't really pushed to have it happen. I'm really torn. If you have a Sig P220, keep it.
