Here's a question that might make your decision real easy.

Are you exempt from the roster?

The PM-45 is not on the roster.

The Kahr P-45 is on the roster but it is a larger gun.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

PM9, the 45 is thicker and less rounds

I have both in the slightly larger CW9 and P45 versions---the CW9 is a joy to shoot---the P45 not so much---recoil is "noticeable" on the 45 and I am not a person who fears recoil---with the shorter grip of the PM45 I think recoil could become an issue. If you can, shoot both before making a decision...

                      I can't decide

PM9. It is smaller, thinner, and it can hold one extra round.

The PM9 is very easy to shoot and control.

I have shot small guns in .45ACP and find the recoil to be brutal.

This includes an all stainless Colt Officers and a Colt Commander light weight.

Only hits count and a gun that is easy to control will stay on target.

No handgun is a sure fight stopper. The PM9 will be lighter to carry as well as the weight of an extra fully loaded magazine.

I would prefer a full sized .45 if I knew it was needed and a rifle or shotgun would be even better.

If I were to constantly carry then the PM9. The only thing slightly better is the EMP but it costs twice as much.
