Keyhole Nano Rapid On-Off Holster Review

I recently picked up an IWB hybrid holster for my Springfield XD from Keyhole Holsters because the look of the holster just caught my eye and I couldn’t resist.

It is called the Nano Rapid On-Off Hybrid Holster

The Nano Rapid is a single clip Hybrid Holster

The holster comes with heavy U.S English Bridle leather backing and a .08 kydex molded shell. The leather backing is very smooth on both sides. The dyed edges of the leather are also perfectly cut and smooth to prevent any discomfort on body. The kydex molding is formed perfectly for the pistol and the carbon fiber pattern gives it that extra flashy look that I love. The pink stitching on mine gives it a unique look and also helps prevent the leather from splitting.

The clip is Polymer plastic that has two screws that is in a fixed position and can’t be adjusted. The holster is very easy to take on and off.

The kydex shell is held together by 4 screws that can be adjusted for retention with a Phillips screwdriver. They also use screws and not rivet which is loctited when assembled.

The holster allows full access to the grip when drawing your pistol and it has a trigger guard.

The retention is perfect on this holster. What makes this holster different from other holsters I own is that craftsmanship on it. The leather backing, the shell, the stitching is all perfectly done. They even spent the time to put their logo onto the leather as an added touch. The stitching on the edges and the smooth finish on the leather just makes it a better overall holster compared to other holsters in the same price range. I understand a lot of holsters do the job but outside of comfort sometimes we just like to have something that just plain out looks good.

It is also made in the USA. The one thing I would have preferred on this holster is that the belt clip had some adjustment.

This holster is also customizable with many options on leather coloring, shell coloring, stitching coloring, left/right hand draw, and clip positioning and made to order.

Price: The Nano Rapid Hybrid Holster run about $54.99-69.99 which is a great price for something this nice in quality. Comes with an extra screws kit and a Keyhole Holster sticker! Turn around is about 4 weeks and free shipping.

    Warranty:
Keyhole Holsters offers 14 days to try out holster if you don’t like it then you can send it back for a refund. Parts and labor is lifetime warranty as well.

    Overall:
I was very excited adding this holster to my everyday carry. It is very comfortable and secure on my body and it looks great. I admire the little details like the stitching, leather edges on these holsters to make it a complete holster, from top to bottom this holster is worth a buy for any concealed carrier. It’s a total package of comfort, value, reliability, and style all in one. Most often it’s the little things that distinguish the difference between good to great.

By the looks of the leather on both sides, I'm thinking the stitching is not only for accent/decorative purposes, but is actually used to join two pieces of leather together, flesh side to flesh side, can you confirm the presence of a seam line on the side of the leather backing? If they burnished the leather sides well then you probably won't see the seam.

I can't tell it looks very clean and one piece. Looks like they treated the back side to make it smooth both sides

Edited- it is a one piece leather confirmed from Keyhole Holsters

Personally I think it looks very good but lacks the two things that this class of holster usually misses. It doesn't have the ability to adjust cant which is more important that many buyers realize until they become seasoned, and it lacks the ability to be tuckable, another feature often overlooked.

Neither feature is hard to ad, but does cost a little more to make and take additional time.

Cant ajustability can be fix by changing the belt clip with different hole posistion for the screw.

There are a lot of ways to do it. Comfort holster is probably the best design, but the clips aren't COTS. Putting in the substructure like they do takes extra work and material but is very nice. Not necessarily fond of the rest of the holster, for the price.

I think most people are much happier with a hybrid than all kydex holster long run for IWB.

For this price point, tuckable is very important. It is much easier to make a fixed non tuckable holster, but in my opinion most people would be better off buying a tuckable if they are buying a clipped in holster.
