I actually just received my notice to pick up the permit. So, how that works, they have you go to Permitium and pay the final fee, then schedule a pickup date. Looks like pickup dates are set to Wednesdays within a two-hour time window, in this case 10AM to 12 noon.

@beenawhile, based on how mine went, looks like once your application is reviewed by the liutenant/capt, Alicia will send another email to schedule your livescan.

After the livescan, you'll get another email once it clears and you will be advised to get ccw training and 3 character reference letters.

Right now I am waiting for the email/call for pickup appointment. fwiw, I applied October last year

The permitium web site does not say much. Mine looks like that to this day.

Yeah I did get the email from Permitium on 9/9; once in Permitium, paid the final fee and scheduled appointment. Picking up on the 21st. I could have done it last 14th but I was out of town for work.

Does SC consider Red Dot Optic a modification?

I don't think that would include red dot because you likely need a modified slide to mount one.

I can't imagine grips are an issue at all.

The CCW Instructor doesn't inspect your gun and has no authority to approve anything.

I talked to Sheriff Elect Engram about it and if they allowed mods they would have to inspect the handgun. There are over 1000 permits already and they just don't have the manpower to accommodate it.
