Wow. I am glad I called when I first got the forms in the email from them. I thought April 2 was a long wait.

I wish I had listened to my wife and applied within they first couple of days after the ruling. I was being pessimistic and figured that it would get appealed or reviewed and I would still get denied if I applied then and did not want to waste my time and money. dumb of me.

I was out at the range a day or two ago and overheard a conversation that one of the guys had a ccw with good cause related restrictions and that he called and asked for a review of his ccw. The guy was saying something to the effect that they reviewed it and were going to reissue without the restrictions. I didn't hear the specifics of what he said he told them, or how long it took, just that he was polite and they were nice.

Maybe it is worth a call if you have a ccw with good cause related restrictions?

        Hope this helps!

I had to renew my drivers liscense a couple weeks ago. I'm a firefighter so I had to take all the endorcement tests as well. I still have my expired liscense and also have the " temparory" liscense that has all my endorcements. But my new liscense has not come in the mail yet. My App is not till April. Does this sound like it could be a problem?

I've seen a few people post about other days for appointments. Also be aware that the call comes from a blocked number, but only rang once. I suspected it may Melanie calling back so i tried calling back again and thats when i got through and scheduled my appointment. She said they are trying to work around peoples schedules and had openenings for tomorrow so scheduling everyone who called today for tomorrow.

Bring in your old license and the new paper one. Shouldn't be a problem

It was explained to me that the LT does the regular appts on weds. Sometimes other ranking personnel, like that Capt will open up their schedules and volunteer to help in an attempt to clear the back log. The lottery winners who happen to call when that happens get next day appointments. I think the CCW staff is working hard on this.. and I hope we start to hear some results soon.

Please remember people come election time. Don't fall for his I am pro 2a now. Just because he opens up the ccw floodgates doesn't mean he's a changed person. He's doing it because he has to. Remember to tell your family and friends to vote for Withrow.

Zamble....I tend to disagree.....I think the genie is out of the bottle and can't be put back....the sheer fact that Sheriff Moore seems to be dedicating resources to getting the ccw's processed looks to me like he is sincere....I don't think this any more political than Withrow's ccw position is. Withrow is is promising ccw's to get votes. Nothing more, nothing less. At least Sheriff Moore is executing. Plus....I go to the Friends of the NRA Stockton/Lodi event every year it has been held for the last 10 years. I have seen Sheriff Moore there just about every year for the last 10 years. I have never seen Withrow there. NEVER!! If Withrow is such a 2nd amendment supporter, perhaps he will show you his NRA Life membership card. What you wanna bet he isn't a life member? Or even an NRA or even CRPA member?

At this point, he doesnt have to do anything. It was his call 100%. And I personally think he would be reelected no matter what he does in regards to CCW. Most people could careless about that. I am reserved though; I havent heard of a self defense GC permit issued yet.

I understand your frustration with Moore, however if he is truly accepting self-protection as GC like the counties north, south, and east of SJ it won't hurt him.

I believe he has shown his stripes. What's to say he doesn't do a song and dance about good moral character? He can string along apps until after the election, legally. Then back to business as usual, denied or with severe restrictions. Moore has shown he is an egotist and a politician more than enough times, recently. I personally would rather have as a sheriff, someone who spent their career in SJ county. Not someone already tainted my SoCal politics relocating here.

From what I have heard and read, he doesn't even have a decent share of his own deputies supporting him. That alone says a lot about his character and of how good a Sheriff he is. From what I have heard, in his own words, no Sheriff should be allowed to run more than two terms. So now his opinion changed, like other things had.
