Aah ok, we just missed eachother by class times. Same here, we all used bay 2 but had to go in 2 groups. Congrats on making it as well!

            Hi,

Dropped off my range card Monday morning, 6/14. That's the last bit. Now it's supposed to take only two more weeks to come in the mail. I'll try to be patient.

Best of luck to the rest of you with a new CCW and those still in process. It's not impossible, but you really have to want it.

Not sure if they are saying two weeks or you heard that elsewhere.
Timing now depends on gun checks coming back quickly, ID card processing time and then the USPS timing.

Det. Dominick said in class that we had 30 days to qualify at the range and should receive the permit within two weeks after turning in our range card. Maybe one of the other recent applicants will also confirm. But I will continue to be patient. Sometimes the glacial progress of the government is a good thing, sometimes it's frustrating.

I turned in my renewal paper work along with my range card on May 25th, 3 weeks ago today. At that time I was hearing 4 to six weeks turn around. I haven't gotten it yet.

Just didn't want you stalking the post office truck!!!

If you use USPS informed delivery it will tell you wait is coming in the mail each day.

Someone recently posted that they turned in their range card on a Friday just after their class within that same week, and they got their permit the following Friday. If I'm not mistaken, I believe it was Chipperchoi.

In our class on June 9th, I heard Det. Dominick refer to the last class (which I assume was on 6/2, which is a Wednesday) and say that all of the applicants that turned in their range cards by that Friday 6/4, he was able to mail out all of those permits by the following Tuesday 6/8. Hopefully it's still the same case.

BassCliff-- See here, Chipperchoi actually went to the range on Saturday 5/1 and turned in his card the following Monday 5/3.

Hope they come in the mail that fast but remember firearms still need to be ran. If you didn't have them on your application that may add a few days....just my two cents.

Well, that's encouraging. (Still, I won't hold my breath.) If they keep up that pace perhaps I'll see it in my mail by the end of the week. <fingers crossed>

Sheriff McMahon said they were trying hard to get everything back up to speed. The night I was in class, 6/2/21, he said there were three hundred other applicants waiting to get in the class. Plus there were another three thousand background checks waiting for completion. Did Sheriff McMahon tell your class that there are currently 11,000 active CCW permits in the county and he's hoping to have 20,000 by this time next year? Pretty cool.

Very true. I'm listing 3 myself and originally listed 1 on the application.

Yeah I know what you mean. We did hear that there are 3,000 waiting to go through background. Sheriff McMahon didn't visit our class, Undersherriff Dicus did. He did mention the same great info though. 20K permits by this time next year is pretty cool stuff.
