Anyone know if we get a preliminary permit of some sort for the time between the range date at when the permit is ready to be picked up? If not, how much time on average has been that wait?

It usually takes about a week or so before they call you for pick up and there's no preliminary permit.

No preliminary permit. Time between range and permit pickup is a week to 10 days. (that was a year and a half ago)
