You're to take 30 rounds per firearm. That's 3 chances with each one. I've been told that they will work with people to make sure that they qualify though I'm sure some still fail.

My recommendation is to practice and not worry about how many people don't qualify.

Just got my range date for June 17th. Not bad considering I was expecting 5-6 months just for my background.

That's how it should be; about 6 months from interview to permit.

Doesn't it suck that we catch ourselves thinking like that?

AZ took 21 days including mailings... and my sister got her Tennessee license (for eight years) in the amount of time it takes to buy a gun there, under half an hour.

Let's put it this way... If you mount a Ka-Bar to your pistol, you'll be able to poke the holes in the target.

Seriously.
5 yards, no time limit (within reason).
5 rounds, reload, 5 rounds.
8 out of 10 is passing.
