        Sac CCW Page now states:
The COVID 19/Corona Virus has temporarily changed the operating procedures regarding the CCW Permit. The protection of life supersedes the privilege of applying for a CCW Permit. All new appointments will be canceled until further notice. All appointments will be rescheduled. Applicants may change their appointment. Renewals, duplicates and residential modification of a CCW will be processed at this time. CCW Permit Renewals, duplicates or residential modifications may be canceled as conditions and/or directives change.

It's somewhat addressed on the homepage just below the all red paragraph quoted above.

"Reasonable accommodations/extensions will be made as long as you have filed within the grace period. Please do not call. Please continue to check our website for updates. Remember that you CANNOT conceal carry once your permit has expired."

Just file as you normally would and keep checking for updates.

Sacramento permit issued in 4 days

I submitted my online application w/ supporting docs on April 10th and I got an email and text message that it has been approved and I can come in to pick it up today. The online process is excellent, and the time frame is pretty impressive. The only down side is that with all the craziness happening, I was concerned about having my permit expire on May 22 and so I submitted the application with 43 days to go on my current permit, so I lost about 5 weeks, but that's ok. My reason stated on the application, as in my past 2 applications was "defense of self and family".

Masks are now required for pickup.
Due to COVID-19, all persons entering the building at 2101 Hurley Way, Sacramento, CA, are required to wear a facial mask that covers the nose and mouth. You will not be permitted access to enter the building if you are not wearing a protective mask.

are you sure they're doing interviews again?

in the confirmation email they state that appointments made between 3/23-4/3 were rescheduled and nothing else.
i've sent them an email just to confirm.

Ok thanks. Let me know if you get a response. I went on there after I read your post and was able to move up about a month after being bumped back almost 4.

Has anyone in Sacramento County renewed your CCW permit recently? I'm curious how long approvals are taking from time of submission.

I will likely be moving within a month. I know the website says no weapon mods, but do you think they will let me lump the gun mod with a residency change mod?

You MUST file the change of address.

It’s the same modification form as changing firearm, and the software brings up all information for edit when opened for change of address. If you supply all information for a change of firearm, your only risk is the cost of certifying that gun. The total fee for a mod is now $15.

Even if they reject the mod in part or in whole, you’ve met the requirement to report change of address.

If your scheduled renewal is within six months (possibly more), the cert will be able to be used.

I’d do it...give them the chance to say, “Yes.”

                                Two modified firearms

I have two modified firearms which I added onto my application which have apex triggers. Will those two firearms be disqualified by sac county?
