My wife's took 30 days, mine was 90 day's, they had to get a copy of my DD214......the first interviewing officer asked if i was in the military, i said yes. He then says, "you marked no in the box", and he changed it. The problem there is it asked if you got in any trouble in the military or a dishonorable discharge. Which I didn't. So they ordered a dd214 to check, i guess they didn't like my copy of a copy. I ordered a new copy the same time they did and got mine in 2 weeks, when an outside agency orders one it takes up to 90 days, that's why my wait was so long.

Well I may be in the same boat than. They asked for my DD214 as well. I lost mine years ago. I had by chance requested a copy from St. Louis about two weeks prior to my interview just in case but it has not yet arrived. They said (the military records office) that I would receive it in 10 days but I still don't have it. My interviewer asked me to bring it in before they meet on October 8th but I don't know if I will have it by than. He didn't mention any delays if I didn't have it but after your experience it sounds like it will. I'll call the records office on Monday and try to move this forward. I know I'm good to go, I discharged honorably. I just need the proof. To be honest I figured the background check would have gave them that information.

The dd214 may not have been the only delay for me, they may have asked Tennessee for my background because i lived there for 5 years and had a hand gun carry permit there. One of the two was my delay. I think you'll be fine. It's great to have it now and the wait is alot shorter then most other county's.

The dd214 may not have been the only delay for me, they may have asked Tennessee for my background because i lived there for 5 years and had a hand gun carry permit there. One of the two was my delay. I think you'll be fine. It's great to have it now and the wait is alot shorter then most other county's.

I too lived in Tennessee for a few years when I was stationed at Ft. Campbell. I did not have an LTC when stationed there.

I didn't experience any delays for military service check. But I had a clean dd214 with me. They said they'd get their own if they needed it. But I also didn't hear anything else about it after that. I had no issues and had an honorable discharge after many many years of service.

I called the office and they didn't know why it says that, they told me to schedule a address change appointment and they'll take care of the pistol mod instead. All is good......
