Heading to Ben Clark in a few days to qualify, can you guys give me the rundown on what to expect? I understand it's 6 rds @ 15yds, 6 rds @ 10yds and 6 rds @ 7yds slow-fire, but is there any scoring of the targets? Are they looking for specific shot placement - like inside the 8-ring only? Also is there time to reload between the 10 & 7 yrd shots or do I need to source another magazine? Currently I have 2 mags for one of the guns I will be qualifying with.

Rphen, The course is very slow with plenty of time to reload. They are looking to make sure you're safe and familiar. You'll have time to load your mags.
All shots need to be "on paper" though I didn't see anyone counting holes.
Take it easy and you'll be fine!"No Good Deed Goes Unpunished"

The guy next to me shot the railroad ties at the base of the target at least 30-40% of the time. Just imagine your an illegal trying to register to vote. Piece of cake.

FYI, appointments are now slated for May 2019. For those of you interested in getting a license, call/email in now since the wait only gets longer.
Also, there are extremely few people who cancel their appointments so that appointment date is pretty much the earliest you'll get in.Comment

Did my training at Ben Clark this weekend. Not bad. I was surprised to see how big the class was of requalifications and new applications. I was baffled about one thing. At the range, some people's shot groups were all over the place. Shots from the head all the way down to the bottom of the target. Made me wonder how their shooting would be in an uncontrolled environment.
I did find out my live scan was back already, now waiting on administration to approve. At least that's what I was toldsigpicComment

Anyone do interview and livescan then wait for results to qualify? If so how were you notified?

Don't think you understand. Some do everything and wait to hear, obviously the more common. I'm asking about hearing from the livescan results prior to qualifying. Some might try to save the $100-$150 qualifying fee if the livescan doesn't meet par.

No I understood. You worded it poorly if you meant to ask about waiting to do the training.Don't think you understand. Some do everything and wait to hear, obviously the more common. Just checked the DOJ Live Scan phone number and there is no record available but the ATI number and birthdate was confirmed. Did Live Scan over a month and a half ago. Ughh
