ATF Form 4473: If a frame or receiver can only be made into a long gun (rifle or shotgun), it is still a frame or receiver, not a handgun or long gun.

I submitted 2 utility bills under my name and was not asked for any additional proof of residency.

Are spouses of Active Duty able to get their CCW License in OC if they reside here? My wife's DL was issued in Texas, but we reside in California because I'm stationed here. I had no problem getting mine here a couple years back, but I'm not sure if the same rules apply for her obtaining one.

As far as I know, your proof of residency is based on 2 utility bills you provide. If all the bills are in your name, then she can submit those along with your marriage certificate.

For Renewals, do we need to do Livescan again ? I know we have to do a Renewal Training which is a condensed version of the initial training.

I submitting my Renewal on 04/03/2023 and am still pending for it to be assigned to a Live clerk. I reached out on 06/01/2023 and did speak to someone, and they said that they received a bunch of renewals/applicants causing a delay.

Unfortunately my permit expires tomorrow so I will be SOL. But I am trying to figure out what else I can get done in the meantime.

Live scans are not required for renewals. Only for initial applications.

I just got my renewal last month, it took about 80 days.

No live scan needed for renewal.

Question regarding selling a gun currently on your permit?

I did the process for an amendment June 24th to drop that gun and add another. But I have a feeling it will take months. My question is: does the gun need to be off the permit to sell it?

Nope. And you don?t really need to worry about an amendment to your license except to eventually keep records straight. If you don?t own the gun you can?t carry it so it doesn?t matter if it?s on your license.

The new buyer?s DROS will hit the Registry faster than the IAs notice of change.

Thanks guys. The main purpose of the amendment was to add a different one

There is an email somewhere in this thread, I believe, where OCSD mentioned they prefer each firearm be amended off your permit before selling. You can call and ask or email to save yourself the headache.

They do not want a firearm on someone's permit if it is not registered to them is the other side of "you can't use conceal a firearm if you don't own it."

                                A preference isn?t a requirement.

Some clarification. If you sell it, you don?t possess it. If you don?t possess it, you can?t carry it. It doesn?t matter to you or the IA if it?s on the license. The licensee doesn?t have the gun.

The IA sends mods to the AG for recordation of the license info. All a mod will due is remove the authorization for the licensee to carry the gun they no longer possess.

When the sale clears DROS, the ownership change is recorded in the Registry from the seller to the new owner, so if something happens with the gun, the new owner gets the call. With the recordation of ownership in the registry, the new owner can put it on their license.
