The system is probably automatically dropping interview dates into the 2029 hopper pending further distribution on the calendar. This makes sense if you realize the Permitium app is run by a third party, not by OCSD.
The third party puts a standard default (WTF) date in, and the OCSD sorts it to earlier dates based on availability and scale as they manage both new and renewal apps.Last edited by Dvrjon; 07-12-2022, 7:09 PM.Comment

The Democrat super majority hates the Second Amendment. I would not be surprised to find that the Newsom administration threw a monkey wrench into the CCW qualification process by creating roadblocks, removing employees and other measures to prevent Californians from exercising their 2A rights. No. Caliber and serial must match CFARS as well as what’s listed on the permit.
Either get a 9mm equivalent and qualify with it and add it as an amendment or carry the .40 as is.Comment

Yes, I agree.
The certificate you get from your trainer will have make, model, barrel length, caliber, and serial number of everything you qualify with. OCSD will scrub this against AFS records to ensure your permit only lists firearms registered to you.
Assuming the caliber discrepancy gets noticed, what then? You got me there, I would expect they may call you to ask what the deal is. Or maybe not, I have no idea. Requalify with the registered caliber if you want to keep it listed on your permit?
My suggestion would be, if you have a G22/23 in .40 S&W and prefer a 9mm G17/19, buy one, qualify with that. Or be happy with your .40 S&W. Or whatever.
SB918 was revised to repeatedly state that firearms listed on a permit must be registered to the permit holder. This is because someone got a wild hair? Doubtful. Excremento may have decided that a great way to bog down the permit process would be to require every firearm be checked and everything match. Or maybe some Excremento DOJ personnel or other bureaucrats checked some permit-listed firearms against AFS records and found discrepancies. Maybe all of the above. All I can tell you is, OCSD has been checking every firearm listed on a permit, for at least the past couple three years, maybe longer. Proactive? Maybe. Barnes seems to be careful not to give Excremento any reason to mess with him and his employees.iTrader under old CalGunsComment

I have added pistols I've acquired though single shot exception in the past in the original caliber (I.E .40 S&W). I've swapped pistols throughout the years every time I've renewed (I am aware it's unlimited but it's easier to just have the 5 that appear on the permit). I was hoping to add one in multiple calibers this time, A Glock 23 Gen 4 to be precise. I've previously had this on my permit in .40 S&W, though this time I would prefer to use in 9mm, as I have magazines acquired during freedom week. I would rather not spend the extra $600 on a new pistol I don't desperately need as well. Thanks for the answers.Comment

CCW payment
I received a text a few days ago that my renewal application has been approved by Permitium and that I should refer to my email for further instructions to contact the OC sheriff for payment and then get a USPS mailed license.
I called yesterday, and their recorded message says to email them. It's only been 24 hours, but I'm concerned that something may be wrong and I'm just in limbo.
So, anybody have any recent experience similiar to this?
Sounds like it should be easy to just pay by cc over the phone, but I know in the past the sheriff's department only excepted cash or checks in the past.Comment
