      You still need to submit a good cause statement.

        You'll still need a Good Cause statement. The real question is what will he accept as sufficient good cause. He could simply accept "Self Defense" as good cause as other Sheriffs do an move on, or he could require something more stringent. It's his decision.

            Sorry if this is already covered in the last few pages (I didn’t see it), but it looks like the website has changed.

            Here’s the updated website: http://www.ocsd.org/about_ocsd/services/ccw

              What are the chances there was an uptick in applications on account of the looming election?

                Online CC transactions require special handling, usually through a third party purveyor like Cybersource. If they're not properly setup to handle them, or don't want to absorb the costs of doing so, they are likely not going accept CC payments online.

                  FYI-
                  Sent in my training cert on Nov. 18th and received notification to pick up my card sometime after the 1st. No appt. necessary.

                  Seems the OCSD is running pretty smoothly on renewals these days.

                    I was told the reason they don't take credit cards is that some applicants would pay the fee upfront, get denied a permit, and then OCSD would have to refund their money and get hit with chargeback fees. So they'd actually lose money on the denials.

                      I'm going to add a new caliber to my permit next week. Will I qualify on the 72-round plan, or the 20? (I want to have mags prepped and whatnot before I go in)

                      Cheers.

                        Makes sense.

                        20 rounds. Your qualifier will instruct you on want they want you to do. Loading a mag takes just a few seconds.

                          Just another data point for the thread:

                          CCW class at Artemis before applying;
                          Applied in October, 2018;
                          Interviewed a few days after application was filed;
                          LiveScan completed within two days of interview;
                          Permit received early December 2018.

                          About 55 days from application to permit.

                            New CCW
                            10/23/18 Application submitted

                            12/6 Approved for pick up

                            Everything was pretty easy. I ended up emailing OCSD on 12/3 to see where I was at in the process, and they responded same day that I had just been submitted for final review. And was approved 3 days later.

                              Easy-peasy compared to what the OGs had to go through.

                                The race is on...

                                I'm trying to add a gun to my permit before I take off for some holiday travel. I picked up a G19 at 12:30 today, got my training cert at OnTarget around 5, and submitted the amendment request online at 10PM... I'll post again when the new permit is ready to be picked up! Fingers crossed!
