On a positive note, I picked up my license yesterday. Total time was about 6 weeks, soup-to-nuts. I'm hearing that some applications are taking as little as 1-2 weeks.
Mine took 9 weeks from application to approval. I did the live-scan right after the initial application. I had life stuff and couldn't take the class until a month after my initial application. I submitted the training cert and 4 weeks later got the email to pick up the license.

I got the email at 4pm on a Friday before a three day weekend! Longest 3 days!

9 weeks is still pretty impressive considering I didn't think we'd ever be able to do this!

As an aside.. anyone who voted Allen would most likely vote for Barnes!

I also voted for Travis Allen, and I don't consider that a wasted vote either. Some may disagree but I will always vote for who I want to win, not who I think is going to win.

You wasted your vote and its due to people like you that Barnes now is in a run off instead of winning the election outright. Thank you for that!

No problem. My conscience is clear.

Rest assured I will be voting for Barnes in the runoff, along with (I would expect) all the other Harrington voters.

It would be a big assumption that people are going to vote for Barnes next time, just because they voted for Harrington. Hopefully they do, but....

Some people may only turn up for primaries. Some people may change their mind on Nguyen. Especially if he does heavy campaigning. Some may not even show up for the vote and cost Barnes some votes.

It would have been great to win on the first try. Especially when Harrington was IMO right or ready for the job.

OK, already did a search on this in this forum, but zero hits.

Question: If you have a lawfully-PPT'd off-roster gun, can you get it put on your CCW?

              TIA.

Yes. You can list off roster for Orange County if you have legally obtained them of course

The CA roster of firearms is for new purchase only - what a dealer may sell in the state of CA - has nothing to do with what you legally own.

You can add an unlimited number of firearms to your carry permit, you just need to qualify each one and legally own them.

They're getting a lot better and faster. I had to hurry up on my end because they're shifting from the paper system to an electronic system, which will hopefully make the times even shorter.

Not sure if anyone has posted any numbers lately, but I have a friend who picked his up the other day. The Sgt told him they're up to 18,000 issued.

Their documentation still says 90 days: http://www.ocsd.org/civicax/filebank...x?BlobID=24223

Normally they'll issue a renewal pretty close to expiration, but you keep your old one 'till it expires then destroy it, use the new one.
