Re-elect Sheriff VillanuevaComment

No it won't, it was a valid legal period to acquire standard cap magazines..God forbid you ever need to use your CCW and NEED a standard capacity magazine. I imagine 10 rounds vs 17 rounds could make all the difference in that type of situation. You would have to prove your legal possession to that zealous cop. And remember LAPD is not the same as LASD. LAPD’s leadership is political appointments, not elected, so more likely toeing the California anti-gun line or attitude.
I am old enough to have a few standard capacity magazines for one gun on my list because I bought it in 1990s, but the other two I have opted to go with 10 rounders. God forbid I ever need to use my weapon, the last thing I need is a separate possible headache over magazines.
Freedom Week excuse will be as popular and suspicious as the old saw “I lost that gun in a boating accident.”
You wouldn't have to prove anything to the cop, the way the law works in the country is the other way around. He would have to prove you didn't acquire it legally.WTB 3rd Gen SW also looking for a 22 pistol with 6" bbl or longerComment

If it's not business or work related you'll get denied. Self defense is not a good cause, all of this may change this month after the SCOTUS decision.WTB 3rd Gen SW also looking for a 22 pistol with 6" bbl or longerComment

We reside in LA County where justice is supervised by George Gascon. He decides whom to prosecute. Sheriff Villanueva is as popular as a skunk at a picnic. The powers to be will be looking for any which way they can embarrass him for the LASD CCW permitted citizen involved shooting. The City Council and the Board of Supervisors do not want more guns on the streets and will call for ways to enforce that message. No it won't, it was a valid legal period to acquire standard cap magazines..God forbid you ever need to use your CCW and NEED a standard capacity magazine. One’s gun, magazine capacities, updated trigger will all be known to these zealots. With each “mass shooting” they investigate when and where the weapon, ammunition and so forth were purchased. What’s to stop the after incident investigators from doing a “forensic” audit of my purchases? When and where did I get the pistol, the ammo and by the way those standard capacity magazines? Whether the case is valid or one’s defense winnable, it’s still a major headache to deal with and the magazines add a layer of complication after an otherwise legal shooting. It is a layer of risk we each have to decide whether we want to take or not, taking a rational or legalistic approach in an irrational county. Let’s agree there is no single best answer here, but each of us should decide for ourselves.Last edited by Paul49; 06-02-2022, 1:45 PM.4/19/21 applied, 8/31 Whittier interview.

Assuming you either owned them before the ban or acquired them during freedom week, even if you don't have proof that there are legal, there won't be any proof that they are not, so you should be in the clear from prosecution. However they still may be confiscated (stolen) on the grounds that they are a nuisance.I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

Exactly right. Get your application all prepared along with all your other documents such as proof of residence, etc. and get ready to submit as soon as the decision is released.I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

Just for clarity, in CA, CCW holders can carry within 1000 ft of a school, but not on school grounds.I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.
