Pick up the permit this morning. In-and-out took 10 mins. The permit is a credit card size with your information and pic. My whole journey is almost 9 months. I hope all cal gunners will get their permit.

With the permit card, the deputy also gives me the approval letter. The issue date on the card is today 04/06. The approval date on the letter is 03/29.

Timeline Update: I just received the "proceed with training" email from LASD. That's less than a week after my firearms portion on LiveScan cleared. Looks like they have really streamlined that part of the process. Submitting training docs this weekend.

9 months is actually pretty good, congratulations. So far the 3 people I know that applied in June, 2 of them the same week you did, 1 has their interview this week, the other is still waiting on a call. The third one applied a week later, and he just received his call, interview is in May. The third one will be at 11 months from the time USPS said LASD received it to his interview.

I don't believe you have elaborated on the GC in your sig (yellow/light green). Was it work, or recreational? We've established that if work & recreation are included, they will typically pursue the work-related reasons over recreational. What was the case for your interview?
