Got the call today but I was in the [emoji371][emoji849]. Deputy left a message so I called and left a vm to call me back. [emoji1694] I had submitted my app i person at Temple City station 1st week of June.

My BIL also submitted his application back in June and got a call and an email afterwards yesterday. He was given the green light to attend firearm training. I suggested to him don't delay and take the earliest class available from one of the approved LASD vendors.

Yes, The next class with him is not until January 7, 2022. I want to see what my options are first before I schedule a class that far ahead of time. If I can get it done this weekend it would be great since I am out of town for the next few weeks after that.

If all else fails I will go to his class.

I took his class. It was very good. He does have them every other week though. January 7 is just around the corner too. Hopefully you find one before then.

It looks like all the good instructors are booked.

Seems like TRB has a lot of availability; however the is an over and beyond course. 16 Hours and you can get your AZ and UTA permit with them.

VIP CCW does the classroom stuff online via Zoom and live firearm at LAX ammo range. I took my class there back in November. Much easier for those with busy schedules.

Probably just bring it up. I wouldn't send an entire new application for one little thing like that.

FINALLY, after 8 months of waiting, I picked up my CCW today.
Thanks to this forum with all the information that guided from start to finish.

Just want to share my timeline here so people can know what to expect.

04/17/21 drop the application in the mail
05/05/21 check cashed
07/18/21 got a call to schedule interview
08/05/21 interview (@ Whittier)
08/10/21 got notified by email to do live scan and finished the same day
11/15/21 got an email to proceed with firearm training
11/18/21 finished firearm training and submitted the certificate
12/14/21 got a call to pick up the permit
12/15/21 pick up

my GC is: real estate agent traveling to different areas and usually by myself

Couple tips I have learned along the way:
1. make sure you have the firearm you wish to use ready. You can't change/ add until next renewal
2. the calls are coming as "unknown" on caller ID. Nowadays there are a lot of junk/ spam calls and I think I missed couple of the unknown calls
3. don't bother contacting LASD for update. There is no helpful answer except "we will contact you when it's ready". Just wait patiently

Ok for CCW?

I heard 38 the smallest round to use in a ccw .
