    Bingo!

FWIW Business Owners have a different legal status and liability compared to Employees.

No recent change in LASD GC requirement

According to my sources, there has been no recent change in LASD GC requirement. That was my interpretation of what Villanueva said too. My guess is the new LT changed it (and Villanueva said he talked to her), and/or the problem of sampling bias: we assume what happens to CGN applicants is a microcosm of what happens to LA applicants generally.

LA Co will stay Light Green on the map for now.

That **** is not going to pass. Everyone knows it.

If you spent had spent one hour reading Paladin's posts, you wouldn't have wasted your time and the departments resources.
If accurate, that GC sounds like Dark Green, not LG.

FWIW if anyone has stellar GMC (background check + virtuous behavior) and DG GC (Daily Routine risks with solid proof), risk $30 and apply. If you’re mature (married with kids and none of them criminals), emotionally and mentally stable and interview well, you may get issued. Try it and let us — or just me — know.

I wonder if you got a copy of your record from that incident if the details she was looking for are in there and reviewing it would refresh your memory for the next time. I'd just submit the whole thing as an attachment to your next application.
I hate this BS "expunged but not expunged" thing they do. To "Expunge" something is to erase or remove it completely according to the dictionary definition. It should not be available to anyone.

Yikes. I'm sure Lockdown, like all of us, hopes SCOTUS ends this nonsense good cause stuff and makes it so that "shall issue" is the national standard.

But it isn't right now, and we won't know til June of SCOTUS will actually do the right thing, so it may never be. You play the hand you are dealt, and if you live in LA county, that means appeasing their process. For that, Paladin's advice is absolutely helpful. I suggest you reevaluate before you try again. Alternatively, wait til June and see if SCOTUS improves things before deciding to try again.

You hit on it in your question. The only difference is business owner vs. employment-related risks. Business Owners have different issues to deal with.

                              Congrats!
