Naw, there is something else there, but we don’t have all the details, so it’s hard to say what. The interviewing officer makes a recommendation, and you go through all the hoops (LiveScan, Training, …) then it goes to the commander, …

After the interview did the tell you to do LiveScan or did you just do it?

I’m thinking that you were either a recommend denial from the interviewing officer, or they found something in your LiveScan, or some combination thereof.

One of my clients does livescan, since I did him a favor of fixing something quickly, he offered to run livescan on the house

              Damn,

I would have said you have a business that serves minorites.

Instead of not giving a value of the parts you have, I would have given a range. Something like $800 to several thousand dollars.

@nO.11 I was actually going to go to HSP for airsoft tomorrow

It'll be my first time in almost 12 years. Just picked up airsoft again to train more force on force.

Never liked paintball because it was a bunch of tubes and agas tank.

But I had a work thing come up and now I'm iffy on going

Sorry to hear that, and thanks for posting your letter. I agree with the other sentiments that you should consider tightening up your application and reapplying when you feel up to it. with the two or three de-nile reports and data points, I'm not sure if my gc, which I consider yellow, is going to fly either. so I won't hold my breath

This is the problem with pre-emptively submitting the live scan or training. You have zero gauge on where you are in the process if you submit early. Did your interviewer say to proceed with live scan after your interview?
I already have a COE plus do contracts at defense companies, so one thing I am not concerned about is the results of livescan background check

Sorry to hear about your denial. This is just my opinion, but based on the info you've provided, you didn't have a strong GC going in, even on your business based reasoning. Without any objective valuation of your work assets you'll have a hard time convincing them of the threat you could potentially be exposed to from criminals for these valuables. In addition, if you're GC is self-owned business related, not having your business set up "properly" (i.e. with business licenses, bank accounts, Tax ID...etc.) will stretch the CCW Unit's ability to extend their due consideration for your case. I'm not trying to make excuses for their denial, but I'm hoping to help you and other potential applicants submit stronger applications. I got my permit under red GC and based on the documents they requested from me, I believe my assessment of their denial is fairly accurate.

                          LrdVaderZ. Sorry about your denial.

I would say that given your GC was business related, but you do not have the business set up legally you were behind the 8 ball. If you sorted that and went in with the documentation you would likely have a better outcome.

I think this is an example of how every situation is just so unique that it is difficult to draw any conclusions from any of them.

I do have tax ID, plus I mentioned that I often have to go to client site, pick up the thing, bring it back to my home office, and deal with the problem, after which I deliver the thing back in fixed condition
