Hi all,

I’ve finally decided to apply for my CCW in LA county. Where does one find more information or best place to ask questions? I’ve literally been reading whatever I could find on LA county and even reading hundreds of comments and still feel like I still don’t understand some things. So from my understanding LA County is in the light green tier meaning recreational risk. Aside from that does being a Marine combat vet and recreational shooter help? I also enjoy hiking and overlanding (off-roading to remote areas and camping out). I think for most the GC statement is hard part. I’m not a good writer so I’m definitely going to struggle. Any tips and advice will be gratefully appreciated. If I’m posting in the wrong area I apologize in advance.

Those who do not post their submit date, good cause color, interview date and next steps should be sentenced to bukkake.

I think being a Vet does help, the deputy asked my wife during her interview about 15 times if she was a vet. Recreational shooting meh....It seems like LASD is preferring yellow GC.


There's a good drive of 144+ good cause examples. Read a few of them. I thought I didn't have any good cause but after reading about 20 statements, I came up with 4 good causes of my own that was out side of "I like to do the pew pews"

I don't have it book marked, but just do a search for "drive.google" or someone smarter than me will share.


Also, you can message the Cuban or Vinh and paypal him $75. He'll write your good cause for you and send you a picture of his weiner as well.

Thanks for the good info. Curious about the call to interview on the same day, LARES. Good thing you were ready.

At a weekly rate of 120 apps being reviewed with 4,000 apps waiting (my submission in early July) I'm like number 3900..probably get a call in January or February. An 8 month wait is slightly longer than 60 days, but heh if I can get a CCW where I live and work, it's worth it.

Good luck! I am still waiting as well after my initial interview. I was told I would be contacted in a few weeks. It's week 4. Were you given the go to do the live scan or you just did it?

I was handed the live scan application and told to get that done.. i"m not going to step over anyone.. I await instructions plus I'm not going to throw away money unless it's a for sure approval.. At that time the would be throw away would magically turn into an investment.

If true, that makes me very happy. That would be one of the first LG GC we have heard of other than the few who reached out to Paladin.
