Agreed! Are there many cities in the county with their own P.D.s that have the right political views for this?

Torrance readily issued for a few years several years ago.

IIRC West Covina got their city council to pass a resolution calling on their old chief to accept SD = GC

I seem to vaguely recall some stirrings in Glendale and/or Glendora. (I always confuse those two.)

Perhaps if AV identified and encouraged like minded city governments and Chiefs. I wonder if he would like the help or if he would rather keep control himself.

@Gnzrme you don't even have to read the last 20-30 pages, even if you read the last page...maybe 5-6 responses before your post, you would see that Tony summited his application 3/29 and is still waiting for an interview.

That's a 3 month wait...and since the flood gates have opened, I would double or maybe triple that time frame. Good luck.


@Tony Most people mailed their applications in, maybe yours got lost between personnel handoffs at Hall of Justice. Or did you drop it off at a local station? The local station then has to use a magic carpet to get that application to downtown LA. So your "physical drop date" may not be the same as your application received date.

They said they have your application. You're a doctor, you should know. Email them one or two more times, maybe a call or text and ask where in line are you. It worked really well for Daniel.

Should be a slow week with a Monday holiday. From the previous Monday holiday, we saw LASD virtually gave out no calls. Let's hope this week is different since we have more deputies working the process now.

Had my interview on the 2nd June , live scan cleared on the 20th. Just got an email today to proceed with training. Hope this info helps ease anyones anxiety lol

Were you told to proceed to do the livescan? That's odd. If you were told to do the livescan and you have a crystal clear record, you should do the training.

I submitted directly to Lost Hills Sheriff's Station on 3/29/21, my officer friend actually took the application from me. They cashed the check 10 days later. I bet it took weeks to get to the CCW unit downtown. I can't think of any other reason. They have the application and it still has not been assigned to an investigator. Waiting.....

Ah yup that's it. Your officer friend would have been a better friend to tell you to USPS it to Downtown LA.

The magic carpet from Lost Hills to DTLA is much slower than a USPS truck.
