Certainly do NOT mail in original documents such as your original vehicle reg or DL.

Wait..... is never said u have to mail in ur DL. [emoji2955][emoji2955]

      question regarding the specific firearms
we're asked to list up to 3 firearms that we can carry with that permit. can we add one in the holding period for which we have the sn/model/etc or do we have to have taken possession or/and completed courses with that particular firearm?
      can we change/add future purchases?

If you know the serial number, even if you don't physically have it, you can list it on your application. You can't change it in future, at least not until your renewal time (two years).

Make sure you have the guns you want on your permit because you're stuck with it for two years. If at all possible, use all three slots, in case one gun isn't working, gets damaged, you don't like it, whatever.

Understand that your guns can't be modified other than sights and grips.

Fixed my post to say for those applying directly with LASD.

I second that question. I couldn't find any information about that on their website. I'm sure they are NOT collecting the full $150 just to get the denial letter. I'm guessing it's $30 or close to it, just like LASD. But I don't know. Someone here must know. Please post your LAPD denial experience! Because I don't know anything about it!

Can someone please explain it to me how the f... i can own more than 10 firearms but not allowed to CCW in LA County? I'm a resident ( need 1 more year for naturalization) and that's not enough for CCW ?? What is the logic behind this?

There is ZERO logic behind gun laws. Don't try to look for it you'll just frustrate yourself.

There's no logic to it. We're in the 9th circuit court which thus far has found no support for a right to bear arms. The Supreme Court may or may not address the issue someday (I expect they will, soon, but that's just speculation).

You can look for logic but you will not find any.

The good news is, Sheriff AV is running a very reasonable program, and many ordinary people, if they put in the effort, can get issued here in LA.

thanks. i posed the question at the lgs and there were some raised eyebrows as they asked each other. their consensus was that since the lasd would cross check the sn to ensure i actually owned them that i had to wait to complete dros and take possession since only then would the transfer be complete and it would show me as the owner. made sense at the time but i guess in reality it's going to come down to timing since who knows where in the application process they actually perform that check...

I would like some feedback on this as well - would this be a useful thing to add?

I am in a similar situation and both LAPD and LASD said you do not need to be a naturalized citizen. LAPD just asked me to bring the documentation that I am a legal resident to the interview. Waiting for that interview now, so can only let you know once it happens.
