In 2018 it was rejected with no explanations. Will see, at least I want my place in line ASAP.

Its a way of avoiding responsibility (political accountability) should a CCWer do a bad shoot.

Based on that, it's in my opinion that there probably isn't going to be more liberal CCW permit issuance in SMCO. At least not by Corpus' own accord. The vast majority of police chiefs are not pro-CCW for the general public, maybe with the exception of police chiefs like Mark Melville, Chief of Police for Broadmoor.

However, with the NYSRPA v. Bruen case decision slated to drop at any moment now, things are subject to change. But even with a favorable opinion from SCOTUS, I'm sure we will see pushback from state and local politicians. We might see drastic changes to the CCW application process; perhaps in the form of higher fees, more training, and/or expanding what would be considered "sensitive places" as discussed heavily during the oral arguments of NYSRPA v. Bruen.

    Nope.

Although CC might be keeping an eye on Dragon Lady in Santa Clara and see the error of that, but I just don't think the constituency in SMTO have enough 2A people active. I think CC is more "woke" than Carlos as well.

I'm a bit stunned Bolanos lost, he was entrenched. It speaks to San Mateo County being a bit more "woke" than I imagined and that fits with Corpus.

It definitely appears that Corpus is headed for a win, though it's not official yet. If she follows through with her current position on CCW permits, I really don't think much will change in the rates of CCW permit issuance. But with a decision on the NYSRPA v. Bruen case slated to drop at anytime now, things could change. At this point, only time will tell.
