Is the total $470?
Is there a personal liability insurance requirement? Thank you for your forbearance.Last edited by sarabellum; 12-09-2014, 12:52 AM.Leave a comment:

I'm also waiting to hear back from ALCO but with SD as my GC, I would put it on a coin flip. Would be nice to carry, especially in the wake of the recent riots around town.Leave a comment:

Guys,
Just scheduled my 8 hour firearms training class with Howard Harrison for this Tuesday. Spoke with him this afternoon and he was very knowledgeable. The class takes place in San Leandro and is from 9am to 5pm. Long day! $230 for the course plus I can get out of state CCW certificates.
Here is the website: http://www.harrisonintl.us
I will report back with my experience.Leave a comment:

If only the fees were so ridiculous. Are other counties charging as much when all is said and done?Leave a comment:

Paladin and the rest of the group,
My good cause was based on two items:
1. Lawful self defense
2. I have a C&R FFL and deal with random people, cash and firearms in strange places.
My interviewer did not know what a C&R FFL wasLeave a comment:

Just did the live scan this morning. Eden Township police station in East San Leandro - two nice ladies took my forms and information down. Took a picture and did an electronic fingerprint set right there on the first floor.
Took about a month for my live scan to go thru for my COE. So now I wait.
Gonna schedule a training session next...Leave a comment:

I also had my interview last week at the Lakeside office. Said hi to Judy and spent about 45 minutes on the interview. It was an information gathering process where she recorded the interview and asked general questions right off her notes including any training I've had with firearms, how many firearms I own and how I keep them secured. The meat of the interview lies in the good cause. We probably spent about 60% of the interview time discussing my good cause. But, again she's just gathering info. She is not the decision maker. Anyway, the next step is for everything to get reviewed by her superior, then onto a psychologist, then hand gun qualification, before going to the Sheriff for final approval. Overall timeline, about 3 months. I get the impression that issuing CCW permits is not a high priority for them. It sounds like Suture1 is much further along in the process than I am so I'm interested in what he has to say about the psych exam. Good luck to all.
My interview was very similar but I had it with a deputy?, not Judy. From what I gather, she is just a clerk.
Let us know what happens next. My interview was 4-5+ months ago...nothing since.Leave a comment:
