Just to be clear...you received approval of your Good Cause before having to do the LTC class and psych exam (and paying the relevant fees), right?

Another update - I recieved a letter from the Sheriff's office today letting me know I can schedule the psych evaluation. The office is in Concord and I will call and make the appointment on Monday. I will let the group know how the testing go. As I currently understand it, there is a standard written multiple choice exam and then oral questions. Some of the questions are like "I enjoy taking the dog for a walk" while others are like "I enjoy thinking about hurting others". There was a thread on the OC CCW thread that I looked at.

The end zone is getting closer!! Just the firearms qualification left.
Hang in there guys and get your applications in.

IIRC, Ala SO had to drop that because Sacto passed a law banning that requirement.

Ok understood. I realize DOJ will have the registered arms data and by extension the ACSD as well. Not too bad, it is then a subset of my collection. Thanks folks!!

I agree with md2bpo. This process is intrusive at best and I felt honesty is the best policy regarding what guns you own. Keep in mind, handguns purchased after 1991 (I think) and long guns purchased 2014 are now registered with the state.

Disclosure of all firearms IN YOUR HOME that are REGISTERED to YOU will be asked. Whether or not you chose to comply at that time - well, that's up to you. Keep in mind however, via CA DOJ, they have an idea of what you have registered to you even before you walk in the door. I imagine this may be part of their integrity test.

FYI, I have signed up with Mr. Harrison for a CCW course in Januay 2015, date TBD. He informed me that no one that had taken his course had been turned down for a CCW. I found that interesting and heartening! Anyway, he is putting together group, so if anyine is interested feel free to sign up!

Something that concerns me: I recall seeing someone discussing the need to provide disclosure of all weapons owned in the home, even those not to be used for CCW - what is up with that? I intend to have only one CCW weapon (the one I will take the course and hopefiully qualify with), but I do not care to disclose ALL my firearms, both pistol and long, if they will not be used for CCW - I take this to be a violation of my 4A rights. I don't see anything regarding this requirement in any of the application forms. Does anyone know if the disclosure is still required?

Thanks. And a Happy New Year to all!

WTH, Why do you all have to do this...$150 psych evaluation.

When all the surrounding counties don't. Not fare.
I thought san Joaquin was bad where I live with almost 5 month waiting time but dam, it would be cool if all counties ran by the same rules like allot of other states. Good luck guys!!!!

Going to email in scans of the course certificates to Judy at the ACSO front desk.
    Good luck man.
If you can throw Florida state into the mix, that will be good as well.
