I asked on the forum couple weeks ago whether I can re-use the LiveScan I did for my COE. The "ATI" reference number on my LiveScan has expired and also the LiveScan "deliver to" agency is CA DOJ Bureau of Firearms, I don't think you can re-use for CCW application.

I thought the fingerprinting/livescan was part of the permit costs but we will find out.

What is the ACSO-approved 16 hour training course and where can I find more information?

My only concern is that this is all assuming the process won’t change before a permit is issued. If SB 918 passes and takes effect immediately with a 2/3 passage in both the assembly and senate would mean we would have to start over?

Now that makes sense why we got the email... If you sue you have to pay all court costs even if you win.

Yep, that means they can go back to denying people and forcing you to sue find a lawyer than pay 1 million in attorney and court costs. The only mistake is the law he signed is unconstitutional and will be struck down in the next 5 months or 2 years.

Hopefully even sooner than that, SCOTUS runs S*** but this state and especially this county are hard headed and don't get that .

My concern is, if I take the training course now, will the training course be considered stale by the time ACSO is ready to issue the CCW license? Given government bureaucracy + intentional roadblocks + a new incoming Sheriff who may decide to do things differently, a lead time of over one year may not be surprising.

I think the ACSO 30-day delay was to stall for SB 1327 & SB 918 to be signed or close to it to push everyone post SCOTUS ruling out of 90-day rights to issue or deny.

When a person applies for a new or renewal should include what you got on the books when you applied with the current law but I think ACSO will force me and anyone else to take it over adding the written test on the materials. SB 1327 helps them because a lawsuit would force you to pay the court and attorney fees.
