That wording about the Permitium site not being monitored has been up for a while. It is not clear to me what that means. Does anybody have the definitive answer?Leave a comment:

Yes. I was hoping they were doing the initial permits.I didn't have an "original" appointment. I already have the permit, and I needed to change administrative content. (Not the firearms) When Permitium opened, I created the application in the tool and submitted. The above two posts were the next things I heard from the SDCSD.
Does that answer the question?

What was your original appointment date & time?I received a phone call yesterday from the SDCSD about that change on my permit. And, during that phone call, she scheduled my appointment with them to go in and physically get the new permit. My appointment is on 7 May.
So, it seems, in a controlled, limited fashion, the SDCSD is opening up in May...

That is great news Kate, that is is first information I have heard that indicates a renewal is possible with the current closure. So the office will open for a fingerprint, signature and permit pick up? It also seems to indicate that the note I see on the Permitium that says the site is not currently being being monitored is either not accurate or does not apply to this situation.Leave a comment:

Great Service from Pam at SDCSD
When Permitium opened, I used it to change administrative information on my permit. Because it was not a renewal, or changing any of the firearms on the permit, I didn't know if perhaps they might just mail me the new/updated permit. (Yes, I know now they need a live thumb print and a signature on the permit, but that is coming...)
Today, Pam at the SDCSD called me to tell me that all the changes had been made on the permit in their system, but because they were closed I could not pick up the new one, since it required signature and thumb print.
Pam said that when they do reopen, Permitium would send emails advising us to come back to Permitium to schedule an appointment. She said that Permitium should send out those emails in the order that the applications came into the system.
Anyway, I thought it was great customer service to CALL me and explain the whole thing.

Does this help at all? It's from the Sheriff's site...
APPROVED CCWS: For CCW applicants that have received an approval letter within the last 30 days and need to take the required safety course, we will temporarily be extending the 30-day requirement to 60 days.Leave a comment:

Well, I figured this was going to happen, but it is official. My April 30th CCW appointment has been canceled. Here's what the email says:
Hello,
You have an upcoming CCW appointment with the Sheriff Licensing Division. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, our office is currently closed for all CCW transactions, so please do not come in. All April appointments have been canceled.
We are keeping track of all customers who are forced to miss their appointment due to our lobby closure, so please be assured you won't "lose your place in line."
After this self-quarantine health crisis is over and we are allowed to see customers again, we will announce it on our website. The plan is to see customers in the order of their scheduled appointment, starting with March 30.
Your part:
Watch your email, (inbox and spam folders)
Upload any documents we request through Permitium
Be ready so when we call you in there won't be any further delays
Print your application directly from Permitium after you complete it.
You will need to bring in a copy of all your supporting documents along with your Permitium application. You will be leaving these documents here for us to keep. You can go into Order Tracker to print your application. If you have any trouble with Permitium, contact help@permitium.com
Our part:
Announce on the Sheriff Licensing website any/all changes to current lobby closure
Review all incoming applications in Permitium and communicate with customers via email or phone
As always contact us with any questions and thank you for your patience.

I got this a bit ago...
BUMMER!!!! Looks like we're all on holdHello Michael,
For now, don't come in to the office. Your appointment will hold your place according to when we will have people come in (once the quarantine is lifted) to do your Live Scan and photo.
