WOW, I have been dealing with (fighting with) SD Sheriffs Lic Div since 1994. No more bad feelings and no more badmouthing. People and things do change. Used Permitium for first time 02/13/22 for renewal and scanned them out of date Ca Drivers Lic and CC payment. A very courteous and polite clerk Luz just called and asked for current Lic emailed to her. She said she'd send the CCW today. Then got an email confirming and an automated phone call that also confirmed and said "SD Sheriffs wish you a safe and happy day" Well God bless the whole lot of them and I hope Sheriff Gore is out golfing and having fun!

The law says they have more than 90 days. If the background check does not come in until day 89, they have 30 days after that. If the background check does not come in for 6 months, they have 30 more days after it does come in.

    Penal Code 26205
The licensing authority shall give written notice to the applicant indicating if the license under this article is approved or denied. The licensing authority shall give this notice within 90 days of the initial application for a new license or a license renewal, or 30 days after receipt of the applicant’s criminal background check from the Department of Justice, whichever is later. If the license is denied, the notice shall state which requirement was not satisfied.

I received a call from my backgrounds investigator 2 nights ago (about 85 days in) and he said I would hear back verdict in average 10 days from then. I do not have much on my file so I think a little over 90 days is typical right now.

His website is nothing more than a donate request. No information on any stance.

My view is we do need to vote for the absolute most solid pro CCW candidate. And that means blinders on for everything else. Which is of course asking a lot. It's not my nature and I'm sure not anyone's here to have blinders on. However, it would be too easy to lose ground with the wrong Sheriff and give up years of great progress. Of course campaign promises are worth little but sometimes that's all we have. At least we can look at consistency of message with Meyers. If it's a close election?... CCW holders could be the key.

It remains to be seen if he still has the same position, and if that is even relevant by the time the election rolls around.

Funny things is after day 93 or so I stopped checking my emails for the approval/denial. Then voila get a random text from a 323 area code number saying approved. Lol
